This plugin controls the other
aircraft from data retrieved from the Open ATC server.
This means that the other aircraft will follow the paths of real
aircraft.
Thanks to Kezza for creating the user manual.
Thanks to Balt for the work that he has put into his OpenATC website.
Thanks to the beta testers for their time and feedback.
Version 0.21 Beta
(The plugin
is still beta as I am still working on parts of it.)
Please read this pdf to see what is new in this version.
XOpenATC_Addendum.pdf
Version 0.14 Beta
This fixes a problem on
Linux when using the Goodway Flight Planner alongside my plugin.
Stef is using my Listbox widget, this is causing a conflict with my
plugin, I have recoded my plugin to fix this.
Re-download the linux file if this affects you.
Version 0.13 Beta
PLEASE READ THIS.
WHAT THIS PLUGIN CAN DO
The plugin will control the AI aircraft so that they follow the paths of
the aircraft that have been retrieved from the Open ATC Server.
Because the data in only updated on the server every minute the plugin
will do its best to interpolate the data and move the aircraft as
smoothly and accurately as possible.
WHAT THIS PLUGIN CAN'T DO.
If you are expecting to see traffic taxiing around the airports then you
will be disappointed.
The plugin is not psychic and cannot
interpolate that from a 1 minute update.
The plugin has a better chance of working properly when the data is
good.
The best results are obtained with aircraft that don't make sharp
deviations on their flight path between each poll.
I have also seen bad data that I have verified by looking at OpenATC on
Google Earth.
The plugin will use this data but the aircraft will not line up
properly, there is nothing that I can do about this. (GIGO)
ON WITH THE SHOW
Known Problems.
Occasionally aircraft will go backwards.
I have only seen this once and a few beta testers reported the same.
When I have used the data file to play it back I don't see the problem.
So far I have not been able to find out what causes this.
FEEDBACK
If you are having a lot of problems with bad aircraft flight paths do
the following.
Go to the pub. :-)
Only joking.
Zip up the contents of the XOpenATC directory and send it to the above
email.
I will not be able to get back to you right away as I am busy with work
but I will get back to you eventually.
Please don't keep sending me emails, a bit of patience is appreciated.
:-)
I am not promising that I can do anything about this but I would like to
verify the quality of the data.
User Manual (Please take the
time to read this as Kezza has put a lot of work into it).
